01/31/06: Arts District area to get 20-story 100 million residential tower overlooking the Nasher Sclupture Center and the Morton H. 01/14/06:  Omni Fort Worth Convention Hotel under a proposal set for a vote later this month. The hotel is projected to have 608 rooms be 38 stories and about 500 feet high....Full Story

06/29/05: Another addition for Victory Park, Hillwood has unveiled an $80-million "House" crafted by renowned designer Phillipe Starck. The 26-story tower with glass, white concrete and stainless steel skin will break ground in early 2006. The condo tower is to include a four-story base with 30,000 sf of retail, including room for a specialty grocer, and four parking levels, topped off with a 20-story spire with 150 condos. The signature Starck Park will be a Garden of paradise of dense landscaping, patios and pools that separate the parking section from the first level of residential units.
06/08/05: After almost two years of planning, the Stoneleigh Hotel is getting some company. Developers unveiled plans Tuesday for the 21-story condo tower that will adjoin the landmark hotel.
Work will start early next year on the tower, and the condos will start at just under $400,000. The hotel is getting a complete redo as part of the project but will stay open during the renovations. 
06/01/05: Dallas city leaders revived a deal to redevelop the downtown Mercantile complex.
The complex between Main and Commerce streets has been vacant since 1993, and three previous attempts to redevelop the complex have failed.  The $60 Million deal with developer Forest City will turn the 31-story tower into apartments and bring it's famous clocks back to live again.   WFAA video report.
05/10/05: Phase III of Victory is expected to include three more new buildings, including One Victory Tower, at 45 stories and 600 feet high, the tallest residential structure in Texas. Designed by the international architecture firm Kohn Pederson Fox, it will feature 130 condominium residences. One Victory Tower will be joined by a 25-story residential building with 150 units and 30,000 square feet of ground floor retail, and 2200 Victory Avenue, with 300,000 square feet of office and 20,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, designed by Dallas-based BOKA Powell.    Video     Victory Park     
04/20/05: 7-11 to move headquarters to new development downtown inside the loop by Woodall Rodgers Freeway & Central Expressway.  Construction to start this summer on the 425,000 square-foot office tower which will be part of a mixed-use project of office, retail and condos. Full Story

08/07/04:  Harwood International plans high-rise condo tower in the Uptown area of McKinnon and Wolf streets. The Azure will be a modern-style tower with blue-tinted windows to contain more than 200 units. Designed by KM Cheng Architects Inc., the tower will be a striking addition to the Uptown area entering or leaving the area via the North Dallas Tollway. The number of floors is not confirmed and a rendering has not been released but the tower may be over 30-stories, making it the tallest condo tower in the area. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2005. 

07/16/04: New luxury condo tower to rise at Turtle Creek area, Hood and Brown streets.  The Cresta Bella will have 22-floors and contain 60 units.  The condo tower will include a two-story mahogany-paneled lobby, private elevators to the residences and a lower-level health club.  Landscaping surrounding the tower to resemble a European estate, with fountains, waterfalls, gardens, swimming pools and a dog park,  just a few of many amenities that it will include.

04/22/04: Harwood International to build a  23-story 273,000 square foot office tower to include the historic St. Ann School at Harry Hines and Moody streets . The glass and metal tower will feature the (sky garden) a rooftop garden, the tower will be about two blocks from the planed Ritz-Carlton hotel-condo tower. Construction may start before the fall of 2004.
04/21/04: Ritz-Carlton plans a 21-story hotel-condo project to contain  70 condominiums on top of a 216-room luxury hotel. The classical-style building will be at the vacant block west of the Crescent Court Complex, construction to start in spring 2005. ..Full Story
03/19/04: Luxury 31-story hotel to finally break ground next to American Airlines Arena.  Developers will begin construction Thursday on the W Dallas Victory Hotel and Residences, expected to be completed by early 2006. The first 16 floors will be hotel rooms and suites, and floors 17 to 30 will be condos.  Floor 31 will house the Ghost Bar, similar to the bar atop the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
12/19/03:  Plans for the Freedom Tower that will be built at the World Trade Center site call for the world's tallest building -- a structure that will restore New York City's Skyline.
11/19/03: Lower Manhattan Development Corporation announced eight finalists in the competition to design a permanent memorial at the World Trade Center. View the designs of all finalists.
10/31/03: With the opening of the Nasher Sculpture Center and the building boom in nearby Uptown, developers are taking another look at the Arts District.
10/22/03: The 37-story tornado-damaged skyscraper, Bank One Tower in downtown Fort Worth, gets new name and new life. Damaged skyscraper now called 'The Tower',  here is a before photo days after the tornado and a rendering of how it will look when completed in 2005.

10/20/03: The Dallas Arts District's latest landmark, the Nasher Sculpture Center  , opens today. The center’s opening will receive national and international attention as thousands flock to see one of the world’s largest and most impressive collections of modern and contemporary sculpture.
